Rick E. Oelerich, LPA, EA, ABA, ATA - President

Rick joined the firm in 1972 after attending Drake University and Iowa State. He became a federally authorized tax practitioner in 1975 and has worked extensively in the taxpayer representation field since that time. He has served as president of the Accountants Association of Iowa 1992-93, Eldridge, IA Jaycees 1981-82 and North Scott Kiwanis 1991-92. National offices and appointments have consisted of the National Society of Accountants Iowa State Director and member of Federal Tax Committee from 1995 - present. In 1996, Rick was appointed to the Internal Revenue Service Advisory Committee and in 2001 received an appointment to the IRS Electronic Tax Administration Advisory Committe. Additionally, he currently serves as advisor to the federal tax policy board of the National Council on Taxpayer Advocacy and National Society of Tax Practitioners. In addition to his duties with Oelerich & Associates, he is a speaker for Gear Up, Inc., a company owned by Thomson Reuters.

Marti J. Myers-Garver, EA - Tax Manager

Marti has been involved in preparation of Federal Income Tax returns since 1981.  In 1986, she was licensed by the Department of Treasury to represent taxpayer’s at all administrative levels.  This designation is known as Enrolled Agent.  Also known as a “Federally Authorized Tax Practitioner”, Marti has worked full time preparing returns and representing clients.

In 1989, Marti graduated from the National Tax Practice institute and in 2002, became a graduate of the American Academy of Tax Practice.  She is also a member of National Council for Taxpayer Advocacy, National Association of Enrolled Agents and National Association of Tax Professionals.  She has served various offices with her professional organizations and frequently educates her peers on various subjects dealing with tax law.

Since 1987, she yearly instructs IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance volunteers worldwide to prepare tax returns for the program.  Marti has the unique distinction of being the only individual personally requested to train VITA military volunteers at undisclosed locations in the Middle East.  She has done this for the past four years. Marti was presented with the “Volunteer of the Year” award by National Association of Enrolled Agents.

Marti has relocated to the Quad Cities from Las Vegas, Nevada.

Deborah K. Dayman, CPA
Tax Preparer

Debbie began her public accounting career as an auditor with Coopers & Lybrand (now Price Waterhouse Coopers) in Chicago. Upon her return to the Quad Cities, she joined the tax department of a local CPA firm. She brings several years’ experience as an income tax preparer to Oelerich and Associates. A graduate of Valparaiso University, she is a licensed CPA in Iowa and Illinois.

Debbie has also served on the Pleasant Valley Community School District Board of Education since 1998.

Lori I. Murphy-Owens, LPA, EA
Tax Preparer

Joining the firm in 1983 after graduation from Scott Community College, Lori handles individual income tax returns. For many years, Lori managed the firm's write-up work and worked as our client's independent comptroller, working closely with the client's bookkeeping and accounting personnel. Lori served as president of the Accountant's Association of Iowa president from 2003-04.

Dorothy L. Votroubek, LPA EA
Tax Preparer

Dorothy joined the firm in December 2007 with the merger of her practice with Oelerich & Associates. Since 1985, Dorothy owned and operated an accounting practice that served small businesses in Iowa and Illinois and individuals across the country. In 1989, she was appointed by the Governor of Iowa, Terry Branstad, to the Iowa Accountancy Examining Board and served in the capacity as a member of the board from 1989 - 1998. She served as a subject matter expert on the national panel of the Accreditation Council for Accountancy and Taxation (ACAT) advising the council on issues of accountancy exam content. She is a current member of the National Society of Accountants and is enrolled to practice before the Internal Revenue Service. Dorothy currently serves as the director of new business for the firm and tax preparation coordinator.

Earl Oelerich, LPA EA
Tax Preparer

With over 35 years of experience, Earl founded Oelerich & Associates in the basement of his home in Eldridge IA. In 2001, he sold his practice in Eldridge and took a lesser role as a staff member with the successor owner of the firm he worked with for those years. We are glad to have his vast years of knowledge to help serve your needs.
